Once upon a time, I lost my mother. I spent weeks and months dreaming up one-of-a-kind ways I might honor her. The wind chimes and angel figurines I received from friend were lovely, but they were not enough to satisfy my desire to feel deeply connected to her.

​

Eventually, with the help of my brother, and a trip to Boston we found ourselves standing in the middle of a custom bookbinder’s showroom, drawing up plans for a custom Viva™ memory box fashioned from silk with an iridescent mother of pearl clasp to safe keep all the love letters and shared 'mom stories' from friends and family.

This was 1994.

My belief was and still is that finding one-of-a-kind ways to remember our one-of-a-kind loved ones

should be an uplifting and enjoyable experience.
